First Birth Story... and hopefully not the last...

What a special time it was to be with this sweet family as they FINALLY welcomed their first child and grandchild to the family.

I had the pleasure of getting to know mama from work and I am so grateful to call her my friend. What a beautiful, strong, resilient woman that I will always admire especially after learning of her 8 year long struggle to have a baby. After many miscarriages and various health problems, I was ecstatic to hear that she was pregnant, and then when I found out it was a boy, then when her due date came.... and passed... and then when she chose ME to photograph the special event.

When most people hear the term "birth story" they thing of the actual birth its self and all the graphic things you think of that come with having a baby. There is SOOOO much more to a birth then that. Its the emotion that goes with birth. The first facial expressions, the first looks, the first MOMENTS that you experience with this new chapter of life beginning.

That is what I strive to capture.

The moment when you see the new Grandpa tear up, and the new Dad just stare at his new son, are the moments that everyone wants to see and remember, and what I hopefully am able to capture.

Here is a peek, OVERLOAD of this sweet family's first moments.

Enjoy.
